Hello everyone! It’s been a while since my last entry. A lot of things have happened while I was away, but now that I’ve got the time in the world to finally share with you anything rad, here I am to share with you the Top 5 Most Underrated TV Shows of All Time that I’m sure you’ll be interested to know more about!
When it comes to personal entertainment, you can’t look past a good movie or TV series. We all love getting involved in a brand new TV show and plowing our way through various seasons year after year. I’m sure you’ve all enjoyed some of the classics like Game of Thrones, Desperate Housewives, House, and so on. But, what about all the other shows out there that you’ve probably never even heard of?!
There are so many underrated TV shows that span across various genres. So, if you’re looking for a new series to watch, then maybe one of these will entertain you:
Legends Of Tomorrow
For fans of superheroes, there are loads of great shows around at the moment. The likes of Daredevil, Marvel’s Agents Of Shield, The Flash, and Arrow are usually grabbing the most attention. However, a spin-off from the last two shows is really worth getting your teeth into. Legends Of Tomorrow brings together various goodies and baddies from the DC comic universe to fight together in a time-traveling masterpiece. Seeing as it is a spin-off, it doesn’t get as much heat as the other shows. But, it’s definitely got everything you want from this type of series; great action, deep storylines, amazing actors, and some pretty incredibly comic-book costumes as well!
Naruto
If you’re an avid fan of the anime genre, like me, then you probably know all about Naruto. It’s one of the standout series from this genre, and it has a pretty big cult following throughout the world. But, most people are unaware it actually exists. In fact, it’s one of my favorite childhood anime! It’s very much your typical anime cartoon, with loads of amazing graphics, some type of magic thrown in, and an adventure that never ends. You can watch anime online in various places, so there are loads of seasons for you to catch up on. If you like this type of thing, then Naruto is definitely an underrated series that you have to get into right away!
Poldark
Poldark is one of those shows that has some amazing online ratings, but not a very large following. This is probably because it was released in the UK so the rest of the world might not have been able to see it. But, it’s a very fascinating series with a brilliant cast and some fantastic settings. The gist is that a man named Ross Poldark returns home after the American revolutionary war, and he starts a new business. It sounds like a boring concept, but his idea ends up making various enemies and getting into lots of sticky situations. If you love old-timey dramas with all the costumes, then you’ll thoroughly enjoy this underrated masterpiece.
Community
Turning your attention to underrated comedy shows, and Community is 100% the most underrated comedy of all time. A lot of the cast have gone on to be in various big movies or hit TV series, but they worked so well together on this show. FYI, Ken Jeong is one of my favorite comedians out there who is actually a real former physician! Community followed a group of friends who were going through Community College together. This in itself was interesting as you usually see college scenarios through the eyes of young students. Here, everyone is in adulthood and they’re on the mature side. It’s unbelievably inventive, and there aren’t many shows out there that can make you laugh and think at the same time. It was loved by a cult group of fans online, but never really made it into the mainstream world with the likes of The Big Bang Theory or Friends.
The Americans
We’ll finish this list with something of a crime/drama series that never got the full attention it deserved. The Americans is set during the Cold War, and it centers around a family that’s posing as your quintessential American household. However, the twist is that they’re actually Russian agents in disguise. As you can imagine, this series comes packed full of tense moments, drama, mystery, and everything else. There are 75 episodes in total, each running around 40 minutes long – so you’ve got plenty of catching up to do!
How many of these TV series have you watched, or even heard of before? If you say five out of five, then I’m incredibly impressed! Where possible, I’ve tried to find clips or trailers of the show to give you an extra insight into what it’s about.
Hopefully, this gives you a few new ideas for a new series that you can really get stuck into and binge on! When I was studying for the physician boards, I really needed shows to watch in between my study period, so having a list of interesting shows made me more perked up to study then take a rest in between by watching these shows.
I hope this helps you get your productivity going just as much as it did to me! 🙂
Until then, guys!
Xoxo
I love all of the DC shows, including Legends. I think it is great how they all link together and form a massive storyline 🙂
Adding some of these to my binge watching list! Sound so good!
I haven't seen any of these movies. I did hear about Poldark though but never knew what it was about. Sounds like it has an interesting plot.
It's always funny when some hot movies are underrated while some boring ones are overrated. But anyway, people got preferences. And from your list,I need to get Legends of Tomorrow.
Thank you for the recommendations! I’m on maternity leave and running out of shows to watch!
great recommendations! I never watch all of these shows so a lot for catching up! I do read Naruto manga tho so expect the anime to be just as good!
I have to admit that I love The Legands of Tomorrow and Poldark is huge over here, it's one of those shows that is always talked about when it is on.
I haven't heard of any of these shows but I definitely want to check out Community. It sounds so funny!
My husband loves Poldark and we both loved The Americans (except the series finale … but that's a topic for another day 🙂 ).
I LOVED community – frigging hilarious and definitely under-rated, should be in the top 5 for EVERYONE!
You have made some great suggestions here! Forwarding to my binge-loving partner!
I don't know any of them. I was just saying we need to watch more TV because ours is a waste of space. 🙂
I watch movies all day long and every single day. I can't believe I've not heard of these. I love that I have something new to watch over the holidays. I will have to pick one out to get started.
Out of all these shows I've heard of Naruto and Community. Never watched Naruto – not a fan of anime and I did try to watch the first season of Community but it was not enough for me to keep watching.
I have heard about all of these except Naruto, but I am aware of the anime because of having all of the Manga novels at my library. I will have to see if I can check out legends of tomorrow.
Community is such a fun show! I love Naruto! Read all the books, watches all the episodes and movies!
I love The Legends of Tomorrow. I think it is super entertaining and super hilarious!
I seldom watch tv shows nor tv series nowadays since I am always busy at the office. Will probably check this out when I got already some free time.
